Partners

Each year GoLite sponsors a select number of organizations and events that are aligned with GoLite’s core values. These organizations and events primarily focus on advancing environmental and conservation issues or on encouraging more people to get outdoors. We believe that these causes are mutually reinforcing: a healthy environment creates a reason to go outside, and by getting more people outside we strengthen the constituency that will save our planet.

The Outdoor Industry Foundation

GoLite is a proud supporter of the Outdoor Industry Foundation (OIF), a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation established by Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) to encourage active outdoor recreation for all Americans. OIF’s charter is to increase participation in outdoor recreation and to encourage and support healthier, more active lifestyles through education, partnerships, programs and advocacy.

National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS)

GoLite is a proud supporter of the National Outdoor Leadership School, the premier teacher of outdoor skills and leadership, which offers courses 10 days to full semesters in the world's most spectacular wilderness classrooms. Since 1965, more than 85,000 people have turned to NOLS to learn sea kayaking, backpacking, sailing, mountaineering, kayaking, horse-packing and canoeing. NOLS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. NOLS founder Paul Petzoldt's idea was simple: take people into the wilderness for an extended period of time, teach them the right things, feed them well and when they walk out of the mountains, they will be skilled leaders. The core of his idea was the extended expedition, one of sufficient length that a person could learn and practice the skills over and over again. That is the backbone of every NOLS course and today the school is widely recognized as the world's leader in the extended expedition.

The Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition (OIWC)

GoLite is a proud supporter of the Outdoor Industry Women’s Coalition (OIWC) a 501(c)(6) non-profit association of women engaged in or impassioned by the outdoor, snow sports, action sports, and bicycling industries. The OIWC’s vision is to seek equality for, and provide power, influence and opportunity to women in the outdoor industries, to increase their influence and recognition, and to generate champions who can serve as mentors to inspire younger women.

The OIWC fulfills its mission through education, networking, and mentoring channels as well as through recognizing women through the Pioneering Woman and the First Ascent Awards. OIWC invites all women to become members and industry leaders. For additional information please visit www.oiwc.org

Conservation Alliance

GoLite is a proud member of the Conservation Alliance, a 501-c(3) nonprofit organization of outdoor businesses whose collective annual membership dues support grassroots citizen-action groups and their efforts to protect wild and natural areas. One hundred percent of its member companies' dues go directly to diverse, local community groups across the nation. For these groups, who seek to protect the last great wild lands and waterways from resource extraction and commercial development, the Alliance's grants are substantial in size (about $35,000 each), and have often made the difference between success and defeat.

Pacific Crest Trail Association

GoLite is a proud supporter of the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit that protects, preserves, and promotes the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT) for the enjoyment, education, and adventure of hikers and equestrians. The PCT is a 2,500-mile footpath that runs between Mexico and Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington.
