The straps are rubbish
I bought this pack to do an Appalachian Trail thru-hike and by the time I arrived in Damascus VA (500 miles), the straps were basically cords and the padding was useless and dug into my shoulders. It happened even though the pack was about 14-16 lbs!

Skeptical no more
I've always been a framed pack kind of guy, but after a buddy lent me the 50l jam for a weekend hike, I'm starting to sing a different tune. There's plenty of space for all you need for a few days and even up around 30lbs it remained comfortable. I'll certainly be adding one of these to my gear rack

Amazing! Stop reading reviews and buy this pack.
I did a lot of research before I bought this pack, but for the weight and the price, there is nothing better! I wasn't sure if I could fit all of my gear in 50L, but this pack has more than enough room. I consider myself to be a "comfort" lightweight backpacker. Usually around 25lbs and I bring a tent and foam sleeping pad. Have packed it with the sleeping pad unrolled in the inside of the pack, and more recently, have attached the sleeping pad rolled up on the side using the compression straps. Both ways work for me, depending on the food/cold weather gear I need. I have used it for both overnight trips and week-long trips. I love that this has room for everything I need, and not a ton of little pockets to search through. I have also used this for weekend trips on the train, and as a carry-on bag on a plane for a weekend trips.
