The comPACKtor™ system makes your pack far more versatile by enabling you to reduce your pack's volume through the use of two fixed compression anchor clips and adjustable side compression straps. With the comPACKtor™ system engaged, your pack is instantly transformed from a lightweight multi-day carrying system into a day-tripper or peak-bagger with smaller profile and volume.
Dyneema®

Dyneema® The fabric of choice for our standard-setting UltraLite Series packs, our exclusive Dyneema® Gridstop weave combines 100% nylon base yarn with Dyneema fibers to deliver the strongest, lightest, performance pack fabric ever produced. Dyneema fibers have a strength-to-weight ratio that is 15 times better than high tensile steel, making this fabric incredibly difficult to tear.

very uncomfortable
I have used this pack all summer for treks ranging from 1-5 nights, mostly in rough Alaska terrain. Kudos for the material, which has withstood hours of alder bashing. Unfortunately, this pack is so unstructured that it's super uncomfortable and the straps pull on my shoulders something fierce (I am petite woman). I have tried rolling my sleeping pad around the inside, and keeping the load way below 30 but I'm ready to chuck this thing. I can carry 35 lbs in a 5lb Osprey easier than 20 lbs in the Jam 70.

Versatile
I have had this pack for slightly over one year and have hiked around 550 miles on the Appalachian trail with the Jam 50. I like how light it is but honestly have had an issue I resolved my self and another issue I hope the designers fix before I buy another. The issue I fixed my self was the inner material tore apart in the front pouch. I sewed it back together because I did not want the hassle of sending the pack back. The straps near the front part of the shoulders need firmer material and slight more padding. I bought a purple pack and love it. I tend to hike with 26- 30 pounds of weight depending on my distance and the pack feels very good on my waist and back. The side pouches hold my rain gear, snacks and water easily accessible. To lessen the weight I recommend the material that houses the bladder be better used on the straps. I do not use a bladder, I carry two one liter bottles. I highly recommend the pack for it is easy to use even when scrambling up and down boulders.

The straps are rubbish
I bought this pack to do an Appalachian Trail thru-hike and by the time I arrived in Damascus VA (500 miles), the straps were basically cords and the padding was useless and dug into my shoulders. It happened even though the pack was about 14-16 lbs!
