Packs

Cleaning

Use a mild soap and a damp sponge to wipe the outside and inside of the pack. NEVER use detergents of solvents.
Stubborn stains may require scrubbing with a soft bristle nylon brush. Excessive cleaning may damage the protective coatings and is not recommended.
Contamination by organic materials - e.g. sweat and food - can be a serious concern if you are using the pack in areas where bears and/or rodents are common. Use McNett Mirazyme enzyme cleanser to neutralize these contaminants once you have washed the pack as described above.
NEVER tumble dry your pack – the heat may damage the protective coatings.
Be sure to completely air dry the pack by opening all zippers and roll-tops prior to storing. Always store your pack in a cool, dry place.

Mr.

Good Features, except side pockets are virtually impossible to access while pack is on. I am 5'10" and the large is too short for me to adjust properly, hip belt carries very little of the load, and load lifters are of little use due to frame shortness. It is very uncomfortable at 30 lbs.

Super light and big.

This is the pack to get if you need lots of room in a lightweight minimalistic package. If you need a bunch of pockets for, look elsewhere. I love my Jam!

Sweet bag, 1 major flaw

Love this bag, love the capacity, love the compaktor system... it all works really well together in a very light package. I've used it to max recommended weight (and maybe slightly more) and had no issues with suspension or the way it handled on the trail. HOWEVER - side pocket material is CRAP, even the stitching came out. Not a fan of that at all. Even though Golite has an 'ok' return and repair policy, it's just too much a hassle to have them fix this minor issue. So i've fixed it myself for now. This bag would easily be 5 stars if it weren't for the annoying side pockets that really hamper more than help.

Great backpack with one minor fault

Overall this is a great pack, Comfortable, Versitile and tough! Im having great fun backpacking with it from short dayhikes to long thru-hiking. Just a quick recommendation to the manufacturer - REPLACE THE SIDE POCKETS MATERIAL. Mine was ripped at the first trip i took by a small branch! Not a major fault or deal-breaker, but really - This does not stand to the packs overall standart!

Great great pack!

I have both the Jam 50 & 70. The seventy carries bulkier lightweight winter loads very well: a sleeping bag, a shangri-la 2 tent and the other gear I use in lightweight winter trekking or snowshoeing. The Jam 50 is great for 3 season use. It took some instruction from the gearheads at GoLite in understanding how to pack this frameless beauty, but now both packs are nothing but fun. Lighter, farther, faster makes life more interesting, so thanks GoLite! Keep up the great product redesigns. Backpacking has needed this kind of thing for a long time. Fifteen pounds is a lot better than the thirty-five to fifty pounds I carried in the sixties! Cheers!
