Great to carry

Such a small and compared to others inexpensive poncho, everyone should carry one. The poncho provides good coverage even with a pack, golite could make the hole a little larger which would make it perfect. And it makes a great one person shelter. My favorite set up is similar to the picture but adding an extra pole so its like a lean to with a beak. Then I use a bit of cord to stake out the back middle and the hood which increases living space and ventilation. Every time I hike or backpack, this goes with me.

Super light and sturdy

Pretty much the gold standard for weight, until you spend $$$ on cuben. Easy set up, especially if you add clips or line locs. Also can be a multiple use item. Great value.

Go Lite Poncho Tarp

Awesome awesome awesome tarp. I was nervous to say the least about switching from the traditional tent to lightweight shelters, but this made it very easy. It does double duty, as a poncho and a shelter, which for all those looking to go UL is a huge plus. I used this tarp several times where wind and rain were a factor, but I stayed dry. Lightweight and versitile, this will quickly become one of your favorites in your pack.

Nice Poncho

This poncho is excellent for the price..... I carried and used this poncho for my AT thru hike. To be honest it didn't get much use but was nice having it. My main uses were: 1) as a poncho, mostly at camp. 2) setting up as a quick shelter from day time showers. I'm not one to keep walking when it starts raining during the day.... meaning, for a 10 minute shower, I'll eat lunch and wait it out under this tarp. If it's going to rain all day, of course I keep going. 3) hammock underquilt moisture guard. Used this tarp under my underquilt to protect from wind driven rain....this was my main use for it. I've never set it up as a shelter. I guess it can work if you are in an emergency or don't care too much about having a nice sized shelter. Perfect shelter for those that sleep in the shelters, and those that don't want to carry weight of a "proper" shelter.

The best there is...

Bought this last year to use as rain protection and shelter (coupled with a bivvy). It has really surpassed my expectations. Being 6'1, I was worried that it may be a little small when wearing in the rain or when pitched as a shelter, but both fears were unfounded. Great size, light weight, and so far been very durable. I won't use any other poncho.
