Pertex® Microlight Eco

Pertex® Microlight offers some of the softest and lightest fabric available--essential when grams and ounces count. This offers significant weight reduction while maintaining proper strength and abrasion resistance. The Pertex Eco series of fabrics feature woven Eco Circle™ recycled polyester yarns, yet still meet Pertex's exacting performance standards. Both post-consumer and post-industrial waste are recycled to make Pertex Eco.

Recycled Content

Our newly developed Tier 1 recycled polyester and nylon materials test to the same high standards as their conventional, non-recycled alternatives. We use them whenever possible because of the massive reductions in energy use and resource consumption required to produce them vs. the virgin, petroleum-based alternatives. More information can be found under ‘Performance Technology’ within ‘The Meaning of Lite’ section of this website.

Premium Goose Down Fill

We use premium 800+ and 650+ fill power goose down in different products depending on the design and end-use. Down is still the most thermally efficient insulation available, providing more warmth for its weight than any other insulation available. Down is also superior in its drape, comfort, lifespan, and compressibility. All of our down is renewably managed using a hypoallergenic processing technique.

800 Fill Power
800+ fill power down is more compressible and provides a greater loft to weight ratio than 650+ fill power, and is used in our highest performance down products. We specify a 90/10 cluster to feather ratio for optimum loft and recovery.

650 Fill Power
Our 650+ fill power down is 15% loftier than the industry standard 550+ fill power down and exhibits excellent compressibility and recovery characteristics. We process it to an 85/15 cluster to feather ratio to emphasize maximum recovery from compression.

	by Anna on 4/19/2012	ALMOST Perfect I am 5'7", 130 lbs . The Small fits perfectly but there is no room to layer anything under it - or gain a pound- so I am exchanging for a medium. It seems to have about as much down as the Patagonia down sweater (800 doesn't tell you how much fill there is) and weighs 2 ounces more. I like the better fit and longer length on these. If someone has long arms, I don't know whether the sleeves will be long enough. Not quite perfect. There red should have matching elastic on the sleeve edges. The charcoal is odd. The black has white stitching on the packets and the shaping seams (both sides, front and back), which is just wrong. If I keep the medium, I will use a black permanent market to fix this.
	by Julie on 2/9/2012	I shopped everywhere! I was specifically looking for a shiny teal down jacket. As I researched online I found that this one was 800 count down! WOW. It is not super puffy, yet it IS super warm. It is also incredibly soft. I never rate things but I love this coat so much, the fit, the zipper, the cuffs on the sleeves, it is better than I imagined. If there were any left I would buy it in other colors. Strangers compliment me on this jacket. Worth every penny even though it is kinda an unknown brand. I think it is worlds better than any Northface or ISIS that I tried on.
