It's light and versatile, can be compressed quite small. The soft padded back is easily distorted, so it needs very careful packing to make it comfortable and stable.

I wear the Women's pack in size L as a guy, simply for a little added weight savings. As previously mentioned, great for loads up to ~30 lbs, but ideally more like 20-25. This is a no frills pack, but the compacktor system really helps, and this pack can be used from a simple day hike on up to a few day trip.
No complaints here!

Extremely flexible pack for an intro to ultralight packing. Durable, comfortable, and light. What more can you ask for?

I have this pack and the 2011 Pinnacle. I use the Jam for shorter trips. I use a cut off Z-lite pad in the back and it supports loads up to 20lbs very comfortably. I plan to use it for a Tahoe Rim Trail thru-hike this summer.

The backpack is as advertised. It is no-frills and lightweight but can carry all your stuff comfortably. The waist pack is comfortable and the straps help stabilize the pack. Also, because it is very light and lighter than most daypacks, I have sometimes used it even for dayhikes (I just compress the backpack as much as I can).
