Cleaning

  • Use a mild soap and a damp sponge to wipe the outside and inside of the pack. NEVER use detergents of solvents.
  • Stubborn stains may require scrubbing with a soft bristle nylon brush. Excessive cleaning may damage the protective coatings and is not recommended.
  • Contamination by organic materials - e.g. sweat and food - can be a serious concern if you are using the pack in areas where bears and/or rodents are common. Use McNett Mirazyme enzyme cleanser to neutralize these contaminants once you have washed the pack as described above.
  • NEVER tumble dry your pack – the heat may damage the protective coatings.
  • Be sure to completely air dry the pack by opening all zippers and roll-tops prior to storing. Always store your pack in a cool, dry place.

its good

Better than most. My husband has the men's largest quest and mine is a mini version. Everything you need and few bells and whistles. It just plain works. The bottom material seems a little suspect but so far so good, no problems! I've used this pack for weekends and also week long group trips, no problem hauling as much as we wanted up the hill.

Great Weight Distribution and comfort!

Even though competitor's bag has a super thick, fancy hipbelt, the more simply designed GoLite Quest sits in a more balanced position and keeps my center of gravity truer. It sits perfectly on my hips and kept the majority of the weight where it belonged, and I had no discomfort in my shoulders and upper back, whereas the competitor's pack caused me DAYS of pain after only a few miles of hiking. If you have had issues finding a bag that sits correctly, this one will! I love it!

A friend has this pack and raves about it. I'm new to backpacking, so appreciate recommendations.

Great price, good product

The price of this pack is absolutely amazing! The pack itself is really light weight, yet tough and well-constructed. It is easy to access your gear, thanks to the long zipper. The large outside pocket is great for stashing your wet rain jacket or extra layer. The hip-belt pockets are also a nice addition for such a light pack. I would have given this pack a 4.5 stars if possible, because it's not quite perfect. The harness adjustment system is really light and supports heavy loads well, but could be refined a little so it's easier to adjust. I can't explain it very well, but there's a central sliding part that is a bit awkward to adjust to the smaller torso lengths. Also, the circular zippers on the removable hip belt seem more for style than anything. I think a simpler attachment would save a few ounces and be more user-friendly. Overall, this is a wonderful pack. 4.5 stars. Highly recommended!
